Privacy Policy

We built Stuxs.Tools to be private by default. Most tools never send your data anywhere.

Effective: January 2026 — Last updated: October 2026

The short version

Most Stuxs.Tools tools run entirely in your browser. Your text, files, and data never leave your device. For the tools that do require a server (network diagnostics, image processing), we process your request and immediately discard it — we store nothing about you.

Client-side tools Everything runs in your browser. No data is ever sent to our servers. Examples: word counter, base64 encoder, JSON formatter, password generator, calculators.
Server-side tools Your input is sent to our server, processed, and the result returned. The input is never written to disk and is discarded immediately. Examples: DNS lookup, IP info, SSL checker. The one exception: if a tool fails because of a fault on our side, what you entered is included in an error report to our team (see Error reports).
Your IP address Used only for rate limiting on server-side tools, through a request counter named after a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address that is deleted within two hours, and sent to ip-api.com only if you look up your own address with IP Information (see Third-party services).
Cookies & tracking None. We use your browser's localStorage solely to remember your light/dark theme preference. No analytics, no tracking pixels, no third-party scripts.
Advertising Stuxs.Tools is completely ad-free. We do not serve ads, use ad networks, or sell any data to advertisers.

What we collect

We collect the absolute minimum necessary to operate the service. We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information. We do not require you to create an account.

Our hosting provider, Stuxedo, keeps standard web server logs for the site: your IP address (your real one, even though requests pass through Cloudflare), the time, the page you requested and your browser’s name and version, plus a log of server errors. A new log is started each week and the older weeks are kept in an archive, which currently goes back about seven weeks. We only look at these logs to diagnose server errors and prevent abuse, and never share them with anyone else.

Stuxs.Tools’ own records are kept much more briefly: rate-limit counters for no more than two hours, and the PHP error log (which holds technical errors, never IP addresses) for 7 days.

Error reports

If a server-side tool fails because something went wrong on our side (rather than, say, a domain that doesn’t exist or a site that’s offline), you see a short message saying so, and an error report is emailed to the Stuxs.Tools team so the fault can be fixed. The report says which tool failed, the technical error and when it happened, and includes what you entered into the tool: the domain, web address or IP address you checked. For the image tools it only includes the action, the output format and the file size, never the image or its file name, and if you look up your own IP address, that’s left out too. A report never contains your IP address, browser details or anything else about you. The same fault is reported at most once an hour. Reports are kept only as long as needed to fix the fault, and are never shared with third parties.

Third-party services

All fonts, icons, and styles are served from our own servers — nothing is loaded from Google Fonts or any other third-party CDN. The one tool that uses an outside service is IP Information: to find where an IP address is located, it sends that address (and nothing else) to ip-api.com, which has its own privacy policy. If you look up your own IP address, that’s the address sent. The other server-side tools only contact the website, domain or server you ask them to check.

Every request to Stuxs.Tools passes through Cloudflare, which protects the site from attacks and serves it quickly. Cloudflare therefore sees your IP address, the pages you visit and what you send to the server-side tools, and handles them under its own privacy policy. It never sees anything you do in a tool that runs in your browser.

The media downloader feature links out to Downl.one, a separate service with its own privacy policy.

localStorage

We store one item in your browser's localStorage: your theme preference (light or dark). This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

Children's privacy

Stuxs.Tools does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. The service is designed for general audiences.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update the date above. Continued use of Stuxs.Tools constitutes acceptance of the current policy.
